In an effort to further reduce investigator burden, more closely harmonize with DHHS
New Common Rule changes to Expedited reviews, and prepare for a new KC system (possibly
later this year), WVU is modifying how it currently reviews and approves Expedited
studies. Because of these changes, you may be required to take action.
To remain compliant with FDA and DHHS Common Rule regulations and to protect the integrity of WVU’s AAHRPP Accreditation status and Federalwide Assurance (FWA), WVU OHRP will be making changes regarding protocol expiration policies.
Please review this letter from Dr. Fred King regarding research studies studies that involve
DOD funding and/or include DOD personnel as a targeted population.
In response to rising costs associated with growing regulatory demands related to
clinical research, fees associated with reviews of industry sponsored clinical
trials involving human subjects research will be increasing as of July 1, 2019.
