As previously announced, a new submission process for NHSR and other projects that do not require IRB review will be in effect on December 9th. 

Coming Soon: A new submission process for NHSR and other projects that do not require IRB review will be in effect on December 9th. The process for Flex submissions will remain the same. As a reminder, while shown as NHSR/Flex in WVU+kc, these are two unique protocol types—NHSR and Flex. These two protocol types were initially combined into one (NHSR/Flex) submission process in WVU+kc because of system limitations when the Flex protocol type was rolled out in 2018. Any new and pending NHSR protocol submissions should be submitted by November 22nd to allow for sufficient time for processing ahead of the transition. Spring 2023 Office Hours

The WVU Office of Human Research Protections is offering Office Hours via Zoom to provide support to the research community. Investigators, research staff, and/or students are encouraged to drop into these sessions at their convenience with questions about ongoing research, developing research projects, the WVU+kc system, general IRB considerations, etc. A variety of staff from OHRP will be available to answer questions and provide support. The WVU OHRP has developed and released new eConsent templates for REDCap. The eConsent templates have been updated to remove the permission to use email language, are separated by use type (remote or in-person), and include updated descriptions to allow study teams to more readily identify which template is most appropriate for their study.

The electronic informed consent worksheet, required for all expedited and full board protocols, as well as exempt, NHSR, and flex submissions with PHI has been updated and consolidated. There is now one worksheet option, regardless of protocol type. Please visit the WVU OHRP Forms page to download the most up-to-date version of the document.
