Changes to IRB Fees, Billing Practices, and Collections Effective April 1, 2022

Fees apply if your study is funded by a private or industry sponsor. Fees do not apply when your study is funded by a government agency, non-profit, personally funded, or sponsored by WVU.

In the event invoices are not paid by the Sponsor within 60 days, the amount of the unpaid balance will be assessed against a department, college, school, or unit account to reimburse WVU OHRP. Now is an excellent time to review protocols submitted by investigators in your unit and remove inactive studies from WVU+kc.

Attached is a letter to the research community from Dr. Fred King detailing these changes as well as a letter you may provide Sponsors for documentation regarding WVU’s new billing and payment requirements.
